Wanderer Above the Lake of Fog

Bringing together Wanderlust Vision and Mountain Research, we created a limited-edition product and invited the VIETTI community to celebrate the launch of the exciting project at our Arona shop, combining product, experience and community with a shared mission in fashion, the outdoors and sustainability.

Mountain Research is a Japanese outdoor apparel brand founded in 2006 by Setsumasa Kobayashi. The brand is known for its unique and often subversive take on traditional outdoor wear, incorporating elements of punk, DIY, and anarchism into its designs. Mountain Research's clothing is often made from repurposed and recycled materials, and the brand is committed to sustainable practices.

Wanderlust Vision is known for its ability to create immersive and unforgettable events that bring together like-minded individuals from all walks of life. Their events often feature art, music, and fashion, and they always have a focus on sustainability. Their mission is to inspire and empower people to live a more meaningful and fulfilling life. They believe that travel and exploration are essential to personal growth and strive to create experiences that help people connect with themselves and the world around them.

Mountain Research’s 4 Zips Parka has become one of their most iconic products. The jacket is made from a durable nylon shell and features a unique four-zip closure that allows for countless styling options. It is packed with insulation to keep you warm in cold weather, originally designed as a layering piece for outdoor activities like hiking. However, it has evolved and has been adopted by the outdoor culture to be worn on its own.

Bringing to the project their creative talent and brand codes, the key feature of the limited edition parka is the signature Wanderlust Vision blue hue. Other subtle details are added to the jacket, including the orienteering coordinates for Tokyo, Wanderlust Vision’s brand mark and Vietti’s branding around the Mountain Research logo. These discreet marks of difference make the jacket unique and recognisable to others in the community.

To celebrate the event, we hosted a party at the VIETTI shop in Arona, with a special installation including the collaboration pieces for the community to experience in-hand. Music was provided by Wanderlust Vision’s DJ’s and the community enjoyed meeting each other in the social environment of our store.
The parka is available to shop on our website, as well as a selection of pieces from Mountain Research.
